A personal app.
Clear boundaries.

A useful Mac assistant should be easy to understand. Here’s what runs locally, what uses a cloud service, and where you stay in control.

WHEN ASK IS USED

A little more context.

Words your Mac could not place, identifiers for understood words, and app/window layout go to Wandflow’s service. Audio stays on your Mac.

This diagram changes the explanation only. Ask starts enabled in Wandflow, but a first-use card asks before anything is sent. Choose “Not now” to keep it local, or turn Ask off in Settings.

Enough context
to be useful.

Wandflow reads each sentence locally first. If it cannot place a word, Ask can send the unplaced words and a snapshot of your app and window layout so a proposed action fits your Mac.

INCLUDED IN ASK CONTEXT
  • Words it could not place, as you said or typed them
  • Identifiers for the words it understood
  • Open app names and identifiers
  • Display sizes and window positions
  • Front-window and full-screen flags
  • Counts of windows on other desktops
  • Installed app names when a name is unknown
EXCLUDED FROM THAT CONTEXT
  • Your voice or other audio
  • Window titles or window contents
  • Browser URLs collected from your windows
  • Local app-usage counters
  • Saved setup and layout names

If Wandflow cannot place any of a sentence, that whole sentence is sent. Anything you include in unplaced words or a setup description can be part of the request. These exclusions describe the automatically collected layout context.

02 / AI SETUP DRAFTING

Your description.
A draft to review.

When you describe a setup in Magic, the description goes to an AI service. Wandflow matches the draft to your installed apps locally and shows you the result to review.

This is a separate path from local suggestions and Ask’s command context.

03 / LOCAL LEARNING

Useful patterns.
Kept close.

Local learning stores aggregate app-use counts to help suggest useful arrangements. Those counters stay on your Mac and are not included in Ask’s layout context.

Learning starts enabled. You can switch it off or clear what Wandflow has learned in Settings. Insights need time and enough activity to become useful.

04 / YOUR CONTROLS

The choice
stays yours.

Turn Ask off. Disable local learning. Clear the learned counters. Review setup proposals before running them. These controls address different features and can be used separately.

Your voice never leaves your Mac. Recognition uses Apple’s on-device recognizer with no server fallback. Plan checks and automatic update checks still use the network, even with Ask off.

05 / PRIVACY POLICY · SEPTEMBER 14, 2026

What the service keeps.

Wandflow is provided by Everest Egenhofer. The app uses a random install identifier to check trial and license status. If you sign in, our service uses your email to connect your subscription. Polar handles checkout and payment details; Wandflow does not receive your card number.

Ask requests pass through our Supabase-hosted service to OpenAI. AI setup descriptions go through that service to Anthropic. Our service receives your IP address and stores a one-way salted hash for abuse prevention. It records request counts, outcomes, timing, and usage rather than your words or window contents. Request-history and payment-event records are removed after 90 days by a daily cleanup. Account and subscription records are separate and are used to provide your plan.

OpenAI does not use API data for model training by default. Its abuse-monitoring logs normally retain data for up to 30 days, with exceptions described in its data policy. If you configure your own AI provider key, that provider’s terms govern requests sent directly to it.

06 / THE WEBSITE & YOUR CHOICES

A useful site. No advertising trackers.

This website includes no advertising or analytics SDK, email signup form, or microphone access. Fonts and images are served with the site. Playing the film contacts its video delivery provider; hosting and video providers receive technical connection information such as your IP address to deliver their services.

Setups, layouts, and learned app-use counters stay in local files on your Mac. A local diagnostic journal keeps seven days of content-free command outcomes. Turn off Ask or learning, or clear learned counters, in Settings. For questions or a request to delete service-held personal data, email support@wandflow.app. We may retain records needed to meet legal obligations or prevent abuse. We update the date above when this policy changes.

Powerful should still feel personal.
